Description
“Frosty: Uh-oh!
Karen: What’s the matter, Frosty?
Frosty: Whew! Is there a thermometer around here?
Karen: Over there in the wall. Why?
Frosty: [looks at the thermometer] Oh. I was afraid of that. The thermometer’s getting red. I hate red thermometers.
Karen: Why, Frosty?
Frosty: ‘Cause when the thermometer gets all reddish, the temperature goes up. And when the temperature goes up, I start to melt! And when I start to melt, I get all wishy-washy.”
Quote from Frosty the Snowman (TV) 1969
Frosty the Snowman is an all time favourite seasonal first project for young students.
Tell the story of Frosty or watch with the movie.
Students will learn basic skills of working with clay: how to roll into ball shape or coil, how to flatten clay to make a base, and there is plenty of scope for using the artist’s imagination. A candle or candy holder can be added to the base to make a great gft.
