After the class we will take the projects away and return to you within three weeks. This is so we can allow them to dry (about 7 – 14 days), and fire in our kiln (to bisque). Students can then paint their projects with you. Acrylic paints work well.

The hardest part of arranging a CLAYTIVITY class is deciding on the date and choosing a project. If you can’t decide which project to make, send an email and we can help you decide – you can use our contacts page. But don’t worry, once we’ve made a date and time date, morning or afternoon, this can be arranged any time Clay.
Classes are easy to prepare for. We provide everything – the clay, and even a mat for students to work on. It couldn’t be simpler!

The instructor will demonstrate and give clear instructions for two or three easy to follow steps for building the project. After each step the students will be given a piece of clay to work with. Students will learn how to shape, mold and mark the clay to make the individual components of their project and how to join the components securely together to make a complete project within a one to two hour class.

CLAYTIVITY Classes begin with a 10 – 15 minute presentation. The instructor will introduce the project idea, talk about a few of the wonderful physical properties of this amazing earth material and demonstrate the magic of throwing on a potter’s wheel.

In CLAYTIVITY Classes, every student is an artist. Making a project with clay is a rich and rewarding experience that allows every student to create a unique project using the power of their own imagination. In two or three simple steps, CLAYTIVITY instructors will guide students through the whole process.
